I am home! I am married! I write more on both of these when I can see better (damn pinkeye in both eyes) and can breathe (stupid cold hasn't gone away yet.)

Ahhh, how nice it is to not be at work or tutoring.

How crazy it is to realize all the shit you have to do the week before a wedding.

I am still sane. Our friends and family started arriving last night. So far things look under control. yay!

I don't think I will be blogging much until I get back from Paris. So see some of you tomorrow, some Sunday, and the rest will here from me in a couple weeks. Bye!

It's my last day of work for two and a half weeks! woo-hoo!!!!!!!!! It is also my last day of tutoring until June!!!!!

Today I spent the morning creating and copying off our wedding program. I love free copies. This afternoon I spent confirming our final count for the place, cake, and flowers. Oh yeah, I did some work too. I made everything as absolutely perfect as possible, in hopes that someone will actually work on my stuff while I am gone. I expect very little to actually be done though. This is my workplace, not somewhere that people really try and help each other out. bleh.

My mom is up at our apartment today helping Dave clean and get wedding stuff together. We came up with this page long list of things that needed to be done, like "Make placecards" and "Write Thank You Notes." From reports so far, it sounds like they have been getting a lot done. This makes me happy. I like having a clean house and having everything for the wedding in order. Tomorrow I will get to join in the cleaning festivites, and go to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned (gotta have that sparkling smile Sunday!). I'm so looking forward to the rest of the week. I get to spend a lot of time with my friends and family, I don't have to do any work, and then I get to go to Paris! Life is good.

Friday night was all about nekkid people. I did some very strange things, and had even stranger done to me. But this is part of getting married, right?

Wedding stuff is still moving along. It is a little scary-Dave and I were able to go through our online checklist and either check everything off or know the day it will be finished. Compare this to six months ago when I couldn't read to the end of the list because it seemed so long and far away. agghhhhhhhhh, I'm getting married in SIX days!!!!!!!

I really am sick of being sick from working so many hours and eating at wierd times and dealing with wedding stress. Although I think I am getting better rather than worse at this point, it's hard to deal with all the stuff Dave and I need to do when both of us just want to sit and watch TV and blow our noses. Every night it is "What do we HAVE to do tonight?" Last night's answer was "Do two loads of laundry and find the second box of tissues." The problem is that Dave and I have very little free time, and leaving a lot of things to the wayside. My car is so dirty it's embarrassing. There is literally dirt on the dashboard, not just dust. Our home is full of opened gift boxes that we haven't sent thank you cards for and junk mail that we haven't thrown out. We haven't been able to eat at the dining room table in over a week.

If anyone feels like being helpful this weekend, we would really appreciate it. We need help with stuff.

9 days until the wedding. We can do this.

Another busy and productive weekend. It's kinda nice being organized--the wedding is starting to feel a little hectic but not overwhelming. We only have nine guests outstanding out of a total of 173 invited. I find this really impressive. Currently we are down to calling a lot of numbers to confirm stuff, spending lots of money paying off contracts and buying little things, like yesterday I bought earrings, and doing arts and crafts at home (anyone want to come over and cut out stickers?). So things are good. We also realized today that enough people are not coming that we are no longer over budget. woo-hoo! We are sad about those not attending, but our closest friends and family are coming, and that's what is really important.

I shook the skin out of my keyboard and off of my desk today. Feels so nice and clean now.

I miss the days of organizing events at UCLA. We all could check our e-mail on Pine, the furthest anyone lived was Palms, and if things didn't turn out you went to someone's apartment and chilled.

These days have died.

Weeks ago, Diana sends out an evite for a night in OC, concluding at The Library Gentlemen's Club. Fine. However, when do the plans for time and place get set up? Oh, today are 3 pm. A whole five hours from when we are meeting. In the old days, this would have been a ton of time. I would have checked my e-mail at home, gotten it together, and headed over to where we are going. These days though, there is the fact that I had to come dressed up to work on casual Friday, am heading somewhere an hour and a half away, and can't check my e-mail because I am here at work. Things feel hectic and rushed and just plain yucky. Half the group bailed for dinner because they can't get home from work, prepare themselves, and get down to Laguna Niguel by 8. I will be lucky if I make it on time.

argh.

More on my sunburn. This is kinda gross, sorry.

After some scrubbing away of dead skin, the better part of my face looks a little red but fine. A healthy, out in the sun kind of a look. My forehead, however, is really disgusting. The crinkles turned into breaks, and now there is a green tinted (aloe vera) thick layer of dead skin coming off of my forehead in random sized pieces. It leaves random pieces of greenish skin clinging on to my otherwise tender, new skin. Dave is calling me "Banana Monster" because I am peeling, while I prefer "The Dead Skin Fairy." I have gone into the office bathroom twice today just to scratch. It is totally itchy and gross. What sucks is that the skin underneath is pink and slightly raw. I think it may even peel again. Yuck! There is dead skin all over my cubicle and I feel bad for those people eating dinner with me tonight. Dave has already expressed his fear that dead skin may land in his food.

OK, I think that is out of my system. I promise nothing quite as gross about my sunburn in the future.
